YouTube CMS · Australia
Australian creators often have a global audience from day one, because English content travels. That makes rights management and payouts more important than local reach, and it means your CMS partner will almost always be based somewhere else.
This page covers the Australian side: turning USD into AUD, what the ATO expects for foreign-sourced income, the US tax form in AdSense, and how our support hours line up with yours.
Payouts
YouTube revenue is settled in US dollars. We pay monthly in USD, so your bank or payment provider converts it to Australian dollar (AUD). Here is what that means in practice.
We pay in USD. If it goes into an everyday AUD account, your bank converts it at its rate on arrival and may add an international transfer fee. Some Australian banks and payment apps offer foreign currency accounts so you can hold USD and convert later.
Payouts can go by bank or wire transfer, PayPal or Payoneer. Multi-currency accounts are another option. We don't recommend a provider; compare the total cost on a typical payout.
The Australian financial year runs from 1 July to 30 June. Keep each monthly statement with its bank entry so your figures line up with the right year.
Tax & paperwork
General orientation only, not tax advice. Rules change, so confirm your position with a qualified advisor in Australia.
YouTube requires creators outside the US to submit tax info in AdSense for YouTube. Australian individuals use Form W-8BEN. Australia has an income tax treaty with the US, so you can claim treaty benefits, and withholding then applies only to earnings from US viewers. Without tax info, Google may withhold 24% of your worldwide earnings.
YouTube pays the partner and the partner pays you. You keep your own tax info in AdSense, withholding is taken from the payment to the partner for your channel, and Google sends you forms such as the 1042-S directly.
Australian tax residents declare income earned anywhere in the world, converted to Australian dollars. The ATO publishes the exchange rates you can use and has a foreign income conversion calculator. If US tax was withheld, you may be able to claim a foreign income tax offset. A registered tax agent can confirm the details for you.
Creators
Australian viewers attract solid advertiser demand, but many Australian channels get most of their views from the US, UK and other markets. Community-language channels, such as Hindi, Punjabi or Nepali ones, often reach audiences back home as much as in Australia. Your earnings per view reflect that mix, so ask a partner to look at your audience geography first.
Checklist
Whoever you choose, get these answered in writing before you accept a linking invite. Our guide to choosing a partner goes deeper.
How we work
We run our own YouTube CMS. You keep 100% ownership of your channel, your content and your Google account. We quote a revenue share for each channel after reviewing it. The number depends on your niche, audience geography, rights and volume, so a single published figure would be wrong for most channels.
Send your channel link. We review within 24–48 hours and send a written revenue share quote for your channel if it fits.
You accept an invitation from our Content Manager in your own Google account. We never ask for your password, and you keep full access to YouTube Studio.
Payouts are monthly in USD by bank or wire transfer, PayPal or Payoneer, with a statement per channel.
We work Monday to Saturday, 10:00 to 19:00 IST. On the east coast that is about 2:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. outside daylight saving, and an hour later during it. In Perth it is about 12:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
No, we pay in USD. Your bank or payment account converts it to AUD, or you can hold USD in a foreign currency account.
The ATO says Australian tax residents must declare worldwide income, converted to Australian dollars. A registered tax agent can tell you how to report it.
You may be able to claim a foreign income tax offset for foreign tax paid. The ATO explains the rules on its website. Check with a tax agent before claiming.
With a valid W-8BEN in AdSense for YouTube and a treaty claim, only earnings from US viewers are withheld, at the Australia–US treaty rate shown in AdSense. With no tax info, Google may withhold 24% of worldwide earnings.
Monday to Saturday, 10:00 to 19:00 IST, over WhatsApp and email. That is your afternoon and evening on the east coast.
